María Brandán Araoz was born in Buenos Aires, but her family roots are from Salta and Córdoba provinces. She is a teacher and a journalist. As a writer she specialized in children. Among her novels, there are "Vacaciones con Aspirina", "Soledad va al colegio", "Caso reservado" and "Refugio peligroso". She published two series: a detective one –with titles such as "Vecinos y detectives en Belgrano", "Detectives en Palermo Viejo", "Detectives en Bariloche" and "Detectives en Recoleta"; and a fairy and witches one –"El Hada Mau y las Perfectas Malvadas" and "El Hada Mau en vacaciones de invierno". The fragment we can listen to, read by the author, belongs to "El Hada Mau y las Perfectas Malvadas".
