Julio Cortázar - Viajes

The Argentinean writer narrates "Viajes, a fragment of his book "Historias de Cronopios y de Famas". The record was edited by the Centro de Investigaciones Literarias of the Casa de las Américas (La Habana, Cuba) in 1966.
With this book, Cortázar, author of the novel "Rayuela", and the books of tales "Bestiario", "Todos los fuegos el fuego", "Las armas secretas" and "Final del juego", has captivated children.

Julio Cortázar was born in Brussels in 1914 and came to Argentina when he was four. He has been Literature Professor in several institutions. In 1951, he settled down in Paris, where he worked as a freelance translator for the UNESCO.
He published, among other books of tales, "Bestiario", "Todos los fuegos el fuego", "Las armas secretas" and "Final del juego"; and the novels "Los premios", "Rayuela", "62/Modelo para armar", and "Libro de Manuel". He is also the author of the drama play "Los reyes" and of the volume of poems "Salvo el crepúsculo".
He passed away in Paris in 1984, and is buried in Montparnasse cemetery.
