How to collaborate with the project:

The Buenos Aires Audiovisual Archive invites every person or institution that owns material on Argentinean writers or theater personalities, in audio or audiovisual format, to contact by phone or e-mail.

The Archive also signs exchange agreements, with national or international related institutions which are focused in the preservation, conservation, publishing and investigation of audiovisual materials, by making donations, exchanges and projects.

Biography

Tribute: Julio Cortázar Biography

Julio Cortázar was born in Bruselas in 1914 and came to Argentina when he was four years old. He has been a Literature Professor in several institutions. In 1951, he left the country and settled in Paris, where he worked as a freelance translator for the UNESCO.
He published, among other tale books, “Bestiario”, “Todos los fuegos el fuego”, “Las armas secretas” and “Final del juego”; and the novels “Los premios”, “Rayuela”, “62/Modelo para armar” and “Libro de Manuel”. He is also the author of the drama play “Los reyes” and the book of poems “Salvo el crepúsculo”.
He died in 1984, in Paris, and he is buried in Cemetery of Montparnasse.
