Through Argentinean Culture History there have been personalities who were popular, and others who have been forgotten but are worthy of recognition because of their work.
This section proposes to rescue those who have left their mark.
Osvaldo "Chacho" Dragún was a well-known and prolific dramatist. His work includes more than thirty plays. He also participated in several author television-experiences at mid sixties and early seventies. From that time are the soap operas "Historias de jóvenes", "Personas" and "Uno entre nosotros" –a television series with performances of actors such as Oscar Ferrigno, Luis Brandoni and Ignacio Quirós, and winner of the Martín Fierro Prize at best author cathegory.
In one of his theater experiences of workshops and seminars, he impelled –with Carlos Gorostiza and Roberto Cossa, among others– the Teatro Abierto movement, a kind of cultural resistance against the military dictatorship. From late eighties to mid nineties he lived in Cuba and Mexico. In 1996, he accepted Mario Pacho O’Donnell’s invitation to manage the Teatro Cervantes. It was the first time he was in charge of an official theater. Among his most important initiatives, it was remarkable the Encuentro de Teatro Iberoamericano that has allowed Buenos Aires citizens to know the artistic expressions of different Spanish-speaking countries.
